The Dolourgokaha Village settlement is affected by the Gbongougo main pit.
Montage Gold Corp. (Canada‑based) is the 100% owner and developer of the Koné Gold Project having secured a major financing package totaling US$825 million, involving Wheaton Precious Metals (providing a gold stream and senior secured loan facilities) and Zijin Mining (providing a subordinated gold stream and senior secured loan facility). These investments bring Montage’s total liquidity to approximately US$968 million.
The Mining and Processing infrastructure project scope involves engineering, procurement, and construction to support the development of the new gold mine. The project involves the development of Koné North, Koné South, and Gbongogo Main open pit mines, gold process plant facility with 11 mt throughput facility, 3 million square metre Tailings Storage Facility, haul roads, waste dumps, ore stockpiles, power supply systems and electrical reticulation, water management systems including raw water supply and storage.
The Support Infrastructure project involves access roads connecting the pits to the processing plant, airstrip, administrative buildings, workshops, and maintenance facilities, accommodation camps for construction and operational personnel, health and social amenity facilities, communications and IT infrastructure to support operations.
Community Relocation and Social Infrastructure Projects involve resettlement and community development obligations through Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs) for Project Affected Persons (households) within the mining footprint.
